The Springfield Ronald McDonald House opened its doors on February 15, 1986. In 2014, the House underwent the Labor of Love expansion and renovation project and reopened that October.
When a child needs healthcare, family stays. Ronald McDonald House Central Illinois gives families a place to stay close to their child while they receive medical care, with the comfort, resources, and support they need throughout their stay.
Families traveling to Springfield for their child’s medical care or high-risk pregnancy care may be eligible to stay overnight at no cost.
The Springfield Ronald McDonald House features 14 private bedrooms with bathrooms, a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living and dining spaces, laundry facilities, a children’s library, a playground and other spaces designed with families in mind. Families also have access to a warm meal, a stocked pantry with food at no charge, and space to store their own food.
Families who do not need overnight accommodations can also find support through our Day Program, with access to many of the House amenities during the day.
