April was National Volunteer Month! Our regular volunteer opportunities have continued to be suspended for the safety of our guests and their families. However, we cannot stress enough how much we miss and value the work our volunteers do at both the Peoria and Springfield Houses. From greeting guests and helping keep things tidy to making meals and stocking our shelves with supplies, you are the heart of what makes both central Illinois Houses a home. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything you do and we hope to see you soon!

For the 4th year, On the Go Boutique designated several items as “Ronald McDonald House” pieces, where all of the proceeds are donated to our charity, Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois. This year, the boutique was able to donate $7,300! We are so grateful for this continued support.

To put this support into perspective, we estimate that it would cost our families – who are never asked to pay – $88 per night to stay at either of our Houses. This donation alone would provide over 82 nights of stay for a family! Thank you, On the Go Boutique!

While this year has brought unexpected experiences for all of us, we’ve seen our share of successes throughout 2020 — and none of what we accomplished would have been possible without the support of our community members! We look forward to a brighter 2021.

As 2020 comes to a close, consider making a gift to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Illinois, as we push to meet our annual goal.

Check out our House Wish Lists too and donate new, unused, recently purchased and unexpired items like cleaning supplies, kitchen items, and toiletries.

Our Meals from the Heart program is currently suspended due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, but the Houses are still accepting gifts of catered meals or gift cards to local restaurants to feed our families.
