What We Do
When a child needs medical care, the entire family needs support. Ronald McDonald House Central Illinois provides accommodations near hospitals, meals, laundry, respite and other essential resources that help families stay supported and involved in their child’s care.

Our Story
Ronald McDonald House Central Illinois began with a community effort to bring a Ronald McDonald House to Springfield. A capital campaign launched in 1984, followed by groundbreaking in 1985. The Ronald McDonald House in Springfield opened on February 15, 1986.
As the need for family support grew across Central Illinois, the organization expanded to Peoria. The Ronald McDonald House in Peoria opened on December 16, 2019, in the heart of Peoria’s medical district.
Today, Ronald McDonald House Central Illinois continues to provide programs and essential resources that help families stay close to the medical care their child needs.

Family-Centered Care
We believe families play an important role in a child’s care. Our programs are designed to help families stay close, supported, and involved throughout their child’s medical journey.
Family-centered care focuses on supporting and involving the whole family through respect and dignity, information sharing, participation, and collaboration.
Our Impact
Each year, Ronald McDonald House Central Illinois serves more than 500 families and provides more than 8,000 overnight stays through our programs in Peoria and Springfield.
